How Often Should You Inspect Your Fire Doors?
The answer to this question varies significantly. 6 months for most low risk and medium traffic is advised. Whilst your fire risk assessment should indicate, it is more likely for the 'higher risk premises' and high risk traffic & use, that you will require a more formal & suitable inspection routine to satisfy your management system in-place for both your fire doors & fire door furniture, along with any accompanying systems affixed to the fire doors such as electro-magnetic door closing devices or any fire door release devices, which will all need to comply to certain specific regulations in their own right, whilst also requiring more formal & thorough & regular inspection & checking routines to meet required British Standards & The RRFSO 2005.
